Our Heart’s Work: Bringing Hope

At Children’s Hope Network, Inc., we honor and care deeply about all of our world’s children, especially the 143 million orphans worldwide. Along with our adoption based services, we are seriously committed to providing humanitarian aid for orphaned children both here and abroad. We plan social networking opportunities with adoptive families and friends of CHN, and advocate adoption through educationally based community outreach. Our mission is to improve the living conditions for as many children as we can through the message of love and caring.

Due to the deep commitment and efforts of the Children’s Hope Network / Hope In Motion volunteers, we are touching and impacting the lives of children worldwide. Some of our ongoing programs include:

* Healing the Hearts Quilt Program – which includes material, labor, and mailing costs of handmade quilts. Over 1,000 quilts have been sent to orphanages in Kandahar and Kabul, Afghanistan; over 150 quilts to four orphanages in Russia and China. CHN Executive Director, Sandy Destrampe, welcomes home Marleigh Knier with a quilt.

* We support Afghans for Civil Society. To date, in addition to the 900 quilts for the orphanages, we have sent 210 backpacks filled with hygiene kits, blankets, and water bottles for the worker children and street orphans of Kabul. Many of these supplies have been delivered by US soldier volunteers. To date, 580 lbs. of art / school supplies were collected and mailed in support of the home schools for girls and orphaned students. We have raised donations in support of the new AWEC in Kabul. Through a large volunteer effort by Children's Hope Network, Columbia St. Mary's Distribution Center, Global Watch, and Afghans for Civil Society, a 53 foot truck filled with medical equipment and supplies was shipped to Kabul and Kandahar hospitals in June, 2008. We are hopeful this program will continue to grow through ongoing efforts. Please view the photos below from this wonderful mission event!

We continue to be inspired by the efforts of this organization in a war torn country. We will continue to respond and support efforts that can send the message of love, caring, and hope.
